The Bende Federal Constituency flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2019 general elections, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso was today received by his supporters in Bende Local government area.
Anyaso who is so much loved by the people and who came a close second in the keenly contested election was greeted by thousands of his supporters who trooped out in mass to receive him at Uzuakoli.
The event eventually turned out to become a carol and session of Thanksgiving as the choral team of St. Augustine’s from Abia State University thrilled everyone with hymns of praises to God.
High point of the event was the decoration of Dr. Anyaso with the customary George wrapper, a native Machete and the native “Okpu Agu”.
During his decoration Chief Elewkwachi who had the duty to do that said, “what we are about to do is significant. This gesture is to show the world that we are still with you despite whatever transpired in the 2019 elections.”
“The Love and confidence our people reposed in you is still very intact and at every turn we will never fail to prove that.”
Speaking to his supporters Anyaso said that “I am overwhelmed by this show of solidarity and I can’t thank you all enough.”
“The time for politics is gone and it is time for those in authority to deliver on their campaign promises.”
“Our only job is to pray for those in authority for them not to be carried away by the encumbrances of office, because if they do, it is still our people that will suffer for it.”
