COVID-19: CJN Orders Courts Shutdown Nationwide


The chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad,  has ordered the shutdown of all courts in Nigeria from Tuesday 24, 2020.

The statement was made public on the official website of the National Judicial Council. NJC revealed that the measure became necessary in view of the reality of the COVID-19 in the country.

“All heads of Court sitting for an initial period of two weeks at the first instance, exception in matters that are urgent, essential or time bound according to the extant laws” Justice Tanko added.
